Job Title: UNFPA Programme Analyst, Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) and Youth

Type/Duration: Fixed-Term

Level: NOB

Duty Station: Minsk, Belarus

Duration of contract: 1 year with possible extension based on performance and available budget

UNFPA is seeking suitable candidates for the position of the Programme Analyst, SRH and Youth in the UNFPA Country Office.

Job Purpose:

The Programme Analyst on SRH and Youth is located in UNFPA Country Office (CO) in Minsk and reports to the Assistant Representative. Under the supervision and guidance of the UNFPA Assistant Representative the Programme Analyst substantively contributes to the effective management of UNFPA activities in the areas of sexual and reproductive health and young people. S/he analyses and assesses relevant political, social and economic trends and provides substantive inputs to project formulation and evaluation, joint programming initiatives and national development frameworks. The Programme Analyst guides and facilitates the delivery of UNFPA’s programmes by monitoring results achieved during implementation. S/he ensures and guides the appropriate application of systems and procedures and develops enhancements if necessary.

We are looking for candidates who have:

Knowledge and experience

  • Master degree in medicine, health and/or other relevant social science field.
  • At least two years of increasingly professional post-Master's programming experience at national or international level in the relevant field and/or managing staff, preferably in programme management and coordination of complex programmes in the fields of public health, reproductive health, young people or other related fields
  • Experience in Monitoring and Evaluation of Reproductive Health/Young people programmes would be an asset
  • The ability for advocacy and advancing a policy oriented agenda would be an asset
  • Proven track record, practical experience and knowledge in promoting Reproductive Health and young people
  • Familiarity with UN procedures and working methods, particularly with UNFPA agenda, policies and procedures is highly desirable.
  • Computer literacy

Languages

Excellent command of English, Belarusian and/or Russian

  • Two years of professional experience in programme/ project management

  • Proven track record, practical experience and knowledge in promoting gender and rights issues
  • Familiarity with UN procedures and working methods, particularly with UNFPA agenda, policies and procedures is a plus
  • Computer literacy

UNFPA is seeking suitable candidates for the position of the Programme Analyst on Communcations in the UNFPA Country Office.

Job Purpose:

The Programme Analyst on Communications is located in UNFPA Country Office (CO) in Minsk and reports to the Assistant Representative. Under the supervision and guidance of the UNFPA Assistant Representative the Programme Analyst advises on and assists in developing and implementing the Country Office’s Communications and Advocacy Strategy, including by analyzing relevant political, social and economic developments; monitors and analyses the political, social and economic environment relevant to UNFPA’s work, as well as the public perception of UNFPA in the media and general public; identifies opportunities for strategic communications interventions and recommends appropriate action to seize opportunities for increasing visibility for UNFPA, its work and ICPD issues, and to maintain a positive image for the organization; guides internal and external communications.

We are looking for candidates who have:

Knowledge and experience

  • Advanced degree in communications, journalism, public relations or related field
  • Prior experience in the field of communication and advocacy on social issues would be desirable Professional experience in programme/ project management would be desirable.
  • Experience in public relations, communications and/or journalism;
  • Proven ability to plan, design, implement and oversee strategic communications at the organizational level, particular in the social sector;
  • Familiarity with the communications, public relations and journalist landscape in Belarus
  • Excellent network of professional contacts within the Belarus communications/public relations community;
  • Familiarity with UN procedures and working methods, particularly with UNFPA agenda, policies and procedures is a plus
  • Computer literacy

Languages

Excellent command of English, Belarusian and/or Russian
