announces 2 vacancies in UNDP/GFATM Grants Implementation Unit

Since 2004 United Nations Development Programme has been the Principal Recipient of  grants of the Global Fund to Fights Aids Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM). A special Grants Implementation Unit (GIU) was established to effectively manage grants processing. At the moment, GIU is implementing two consolidated GFATM grants on HIV and tuberculosis (TB) that are aimed to reduce the two diseases’ burden in Belarus.

Finance Specialist

Finance Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the highest efficiency of financial management of the GFATM grant “Prevention and Treatment of HIV/AIDS in the Republic of Belarus-3”. Finance Specialist will be also responsible for processing all payments, including disbursements to sub-recipients made in line with the grants’ Work Plans and budgets and UNDP financial rules and regulations.

Required skills and experience:

  • University degree in economics, public administration or business administration;
  • At least 3 years of experience in project management preferably in internationally funded projects.
  • Experience of financial analysis is an desirable;
  • Good command of spoken and written English;
  • Computer proficiency, especially with MS Excel, MS Project is highly desirable.

Purchasing/Contracting Specialist (International Procurement and Logistics)

Purchasing/Contracting Specialist will be responsible for the whole procurement cycle of goods and services. This will include identification and correction of existing needs, market research, conducting of all necessary UNDP procurement procedures, and appropriate selection of vendor, organization of delivery, customs clearance and storage of goods. The Purchasing/Contracting Specialist will ensure uninterrupted supply of goods and services in accordance with the timelines set in the Procurement Action Plans and Procurement and Supply Management Plans.

Required skills and experience:

  • University degree with specialization in procurement, logistics, marketing with specialized training in procurement and/or logistics. University Degree in technical or humanitarian fields combined with practical procurement experience and relevant on-the-job trainings would also be acceptable;
  • At least 2 years of progressively responsible procurement/ logistics experience is required;
  • Proficiency in Russian and English is required.
